BUNTAIN (off 44)CEMETERY
On a farm located at 1280 McDonald Creek Road (current owner P. Fuqua) on the west side of the road.
Up a steep driveway, the cemetery is just behind a workshop on the right.
Surrounded by a substantial rock wall, this cemetery is badly overgrown.
The Buntain Graveyard was transcribed January 1950 by Mrs. Jas. O. Franklin, Richard Clough Anderson Chapter of the DAR.
Her list included Lucinda, wife of James Bunton, which was not found on a visit in May 2007 by David Sengel and Kate Jacques.
Her notes recognize the varied spelling of Buntain on the stones; and also state that James and Lucinda (Thomas) Buntain are parents of John T,
whose wife was Catherine King Jones, daughter of Daniel and Elizabeth Young Jones.
There is also a large and well-shaped fieldstone marker.
